Next150 Construction is seeking a Construction Accountant III that will partner with our on-site project teams and manage the financials of multiple construction projects, or one large construction project. Next150 Construction, is a fully owned subsidiary of Gilbane Building Company. If you are looking for a hands-on accounting opportunity, this is the role for you to consider further! As part of the Business Unit Accounting team, you will create and maintain relationships with our internal partners, contractors, and clients. This role will sit primarily in the office but travel to the project job sites may be required for meetings with the project teams and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

As a Construction Accountant III, you will:  

  • Manage contracts, amendments, insurance, bonds, SOV, Files, and Co Policies 
  • Produce timely and accurate review of requisitions and lien waivers 
  • Setup and properly format project financial forecasts to meet both the internal team and client reporting needs 
  • Manage the monthly project forecast meetings and maintain accurate ETC’s for employee PCI expense 
  • Review change management on assigned projects 
  • Ensure timely management of accounts receivable and payables 
  • Manage the closeout process 
  • Develop and maintain positive professional relationships both internally & externally 
  • Assist with the development of contract abstracts 
  • Audit responsibilities 
  • Assist the Controller and Regional Manager with the WIP process 
  • Assist in the training of accounting staff 

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION 

  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field 
  • 4-8 years with CM or General Contractor organization working on $15M or larger construction projects 
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word 
  • Proficient in CMiC 
  • Understanding of the overall project execution process, including budgeting, project forecasting, cost control, schedule, anticipated cost and project profitability 

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.    
For Baltimore, MD this ranges from $76,700.00-$105,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
For Philadelphia, PA this ranges from $80,000.00-$110,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
For Arlington, VA this ranges from $85,400.00-$117,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
