  • Overview

    The Area Manager position will provide leadership for the Gilbane Orlando office, while actively supporting the Florida Business Unit in areas of the Strategic Plan: People and Leadership, Operations Excellence and Client Satisfaction, and Profitability and Marketplace Issues. This position will drive the sales, planning and execution, talent management and profitability of the Orlando area in alignment with Gilbane’s One Company goals, systems and processes and Core Values. 

    An established and existing Central Florida/Orlando network of clients, subcontractors, and employee base is essential to success in order to drive business development and operations.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Ensure that Project Teams meet performance expectations, client satisfaction, budget, schedule and profitability
    • Actively support the Business Unit Leader in the development and implementation of the Strategic Business Plan
    • Establish proactive one-company communications with area management and Business Development to identify strategic goals and achieve sales metrics
    • Active participation in the Orlando and Central Florida community and cultivate client relationships ensuring high visibility and engagement
    • Support the Business Development Director and managers in sales calls and take the lead on any follow-up materials, RFP responses, etc.
    • Assist in developing service models for competing in the Orlando market-specific areas

     

    Qualifications

    EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

     

    • BS or MS degree in logistics or related field
    • 10+ years of project management experience, including 3-5 years of consulting experience
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

                                                            

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

     

    • Proficient in MS Office
    • Excellent people skills, listening, and collaboration skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Construction document and drawing literacy with knowledge of all phases of construction
    • Knowledge of scheduling software, and an understanding of a variety of systems
    • Detailed knowledge of Orlando market sectors, such as Healthcare, Entertainment/Hospitality, and Higher Education
    • Demonstrated ability to manage complex project teams
    • Ability to demonstrate clear oversight, leadership and accountability
