  • Overview

    Quality Control Manager II manages the QC processes and activities for DoD construction projects. 


    • Assure all project-related work plans and project-specific documents necessary for performing project QC activities are onsite
    • Review subcontractor quality plans for compliance to requirements
    • Inspect work conformance to contract and design documents
    • Understand drawings and specifications
    • Implement the Three Phase Control System
    • Develop daily quality control reports, prepare and issue detailed meeting minutes, and assist with post construction reports
    • Use Submittal Register to track and assure required materials are approved in a timely manner.
    • Manage in-depth technical reviews of submittals against design documents
    • Proactively initiate deficiencies and non-conformances documentation, and monitor and verify corrective actions
    • Stop work if necessary to resolve matters that affect safety, quality or non-compliance with design documents
    • Verify materials received are same as those identified in approved submittals and complete material receipt inspection checklists
    • Coordinate, witness, and document 3rd Party testing, special inspections, and commissioning of building systems
    • Document all tests and results
    • Coordinate and document completion inspection process
    • Manage a timely project closeout to include compilation and turnover of all required documents



    • BS OR MS degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management
    • 5-7 years Fuels/construction experience on U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) contracts; with at least 2 years as Contractor QC Manager on DoD Fuels projects, especially for storage tank repair
    • Current course completion certification "Construction Quality Management for Contractors"
    • Knowledge and experience with POL industry standards, including but not limited to:  API 650, API 653, API 570 (to name a few), and UFGS Standards
    • Familiarity with EM 385 1-1 (i.e., US Army Corp of Engineers Safety Standards)
    • CMAA Certification preferred
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience



    • Strong verbal and written skills
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel user
