  • Overview

    The Business Development Manager I is the representative of the Company responsible for contacting, meeting and establishing new business relationships in various markets for the purpose of securing new construction and professional services contracts. This position will support our Interiors Group.

    Responsibilities

    • Consistently manage prospective clients and prospects in various stages of the sales process 
    • Target client and prospect development in those portions of the market where Gilbane is well-positioned
    • Develop targeted new clients in pre-prospect stage 
    • Develop and execute effective capture strategies for focus prospects 
    • Engage operations personnel and subject matter experts in sales process early and often 
    • Report on planned and executed sales activities to appropriate levels of management 
    • Develop understanding of issues affecting assigned target markets 
    • Engage in articulate dialogue with client on issues pertinent to their market geography and/or sector 
    • Support other members of the BD team in generating a specified volume of business within an established time frame, keeping management apprised of current and anticipated market conditions

    Qualifications

    Experience/Education:

    • BS or MS in Engineering, Architecture, Business or Marketing
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience in increasing levels of responsibility with proven success in marketing or business development
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
