  • Overview

    The Senior Project Executive is Gilbane's representative of the Company responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of simultaneous complex construction-management projects.   We are looking for a success driven, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage client and stake holder relationships, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines.  Project teams could range in size from 5 to 25 employees.

     

    We are expanding our Southern California operations and have current opportunities in the following market types:

    • Higher Education
    • Mixed Use
    • Corporate Interiors
    • Entertainment

    Position can be based in either Gilbane's Irvine, CA or downtown Los Angeles, CA office.

    Responsibilities

    • Direct and supervise work of project administration, project superintendents, and engineers to establish operational priorities and maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, etc.
    • Enforce project reporting requirements
    • Manage critical issues
    • Assume overall accountability for jobsite safety and quality
    • Monitor and direct overall construction performance from award to closeout/lessons learned
    • Ensure procedures are followed to produce safe, quality, on-time, on-budget projects
    • Establish and maintain a high level of risk sensitivity on all projects
    • Ensure preconstruction efforts produce complete estimates of constructible projects.
    • Recruit, mentor, develop and train team members
    • Accountable for project completion and financials, critical success factors, and customer satisfaction results.
    • Actively participate in regional operations (staffing, business development, operations, business planning, preconstruction efforts, etc.).

    Qualifications

    EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

    • BS OR MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management
    • 10-15 years in the lead role on projects valued at $150 million or larger, including significant time in an executive role
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • Strong technical and communication skills are critical
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Leadership and management skills
    • Ability to mentor others and lead by example.
    • Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
    • Ability to create and support team morale.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; project management software (PROLOG or similar); accounting cost software (CMiC or similar); PDF software (Bluebeam or similar); and scheduling software (P6 or similar)
