This role works under the supervision of the Senior Tax Manager and requires regular in-office presence.

Responsibilities

  • Processes the delivery of SALT (sales and use taxes, gross receipts taxes, VAT, property taxes, etc.) services to the company business units both domestic and international
  • Prepares and files all required SALT returns and ensure payments are made timely
  • Obtains and maintains all required business, contractor, and other related licenses and permits
  • Researches and resolves technical state and local tax issues
  • Prepares technical memoranda, matrices, and other requested deliverables
  • Collaborates with Senior Tax Manager to plan and coordinate the flow of tax information to the accounting department and business units
  • Assists in business development activities when considering SALT issues
  • Conducts and reviews research to remain current with legislative changes
  • Assists in preparation and mailing of other corporate tax returns
  • Coaches and mentors less experienced team members
  • Supports a positive and inclusive work environment

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • 7+ years of work experience in public accounting or corporate tax department
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Tax compliance experience preferred
  • Basic MS Excel and MS Word skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Familiarity with researching state tax laws and regulations

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

For Providence, this ranges from $87,400.00-$109,200.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
