Overview

Gilbane Building Company is seeking an enthusiastic Marketing Specialist I to support our efforts in developing sales, marketing, and communication deliverables in our Cleveland office. In this role, you will collaborate with local teams and departments within the organization. Additionally, you will create engaging deliverables that align with the company’s growth goals and enhance the value we provide our clients. This position will maintain a visible and consistent presence in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and production of client qualifications, proposals, and presentations with a focus on quality, creativity, and meeting client deadlines.
  • Develop the ability to tell stories—stories about clients, projects, people, and Gilbane—and incorporate these differentiators into deliverables that address each client's unique needs.
  • Ensure all external content and client deliverables align with Gilbane’s brand standards and messaging guidelines.
  • Support the development of marketing content, including branded collateral, blog posts, social media posts, award submissions, and basic graphic design work, to increase Gilbane’s market visibility.
  • Support the development of internal and external communications, including assisting with newsletter content development, press release writing, and creating basic content for the Gilbane website, social media, and other digital channels.
  • Organize and maintain digital assets, ensuring all photos, graphics, and media are approved, properly categorized, and easily searchable.
  • Support data maintenance and perform in-depth research of projects, team members, and market sectors utilizing our data management systems.
  • Coordinate and organize the high volume of information we collect for each of our projects and team members to ensure data integrity.
  • Assist close-out process of sales and marketing deliverables.
  • Develop a basic understanding of the AEC industry and Gilbane’s capabilities across each sector, locally and nationally.
  • Begin to foster strong local relationships with operations to facilitate storytelling and identify value adds about our projects.
  • Begin to visit jobsites on a regular basis to build relationships with operations and enhance industry acumen.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality external content and client deliverables, ensuring clear communication, mutual support, and a cohesive approach to problem-solving.
  • Support multiple deliverables concurrently and has a strong ability to multi-task.
  • Participate in professional or community organizations.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 0-2 years relevant experience in the marketing and/or AEC industry
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills and Competencies:

  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding and working knowledge of Adobe Create Suite, PPT, Canva, and Unanet
  • Professional Development: Time management, organization, communication, writing, and teamwork 
  • Business Acumen: Basic understanding of Gilbane services; basic knowledge of key disciplines: marketing, internal and external communications, presentation, proposals 

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.  This role is open to the Cleveland, Ohio office location.
