Overview

Gilbane Building Company, a privately held, family-owned global integrated construction and facility management services firm, is seeking an Accounts Payable Practitioner for its Federal Division.  This position will be located in either Denver, Co or Concord, CA. 

 

The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to effectively identify and resolve problems, be able to distinguish between critical and irrelevant information behind financial analysis and implications of financial data. Explain how financial reports are organized and the type of information they provide. Soundly analyze verbal and financial data. Recognize budgeting and forecasting terms. Perform data collection and data-entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy.

 

This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge of the construction and Federal contracting industry in domestic and international projects, develop professional relationships internally and externally, and grow professionally within the Enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Experience processing vendor invoices through workflow for multiple entities and projects
  • Have an understanding of foreign currency exchange
  • Proficient in CMiC or similar construction ERP
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, high or intermediate Excel
  • Positive, professional attitude
  • Strong desire to learn and grow with the Division and Enterprise

  • Scanning AP Invoices
  • Process payments, invoices and vouchers
  • Extract specified information or add appropriate standard coding and attachments to documents
  • Compile simple summaries of information relating to documents processed
  • Manage timesheet collection, approval and other items related to the payroll process
  • Locate and extract information from files and records as requested
  • May perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division manually or using a calculator
  • Assist Senior Accounting Practitioner under close supervision

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in Construction/General Contractor Organization, preferably with Federal government contracting background
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Very good written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.    
For Concord, CA, this ranges from $53,800.00-$73,900.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
For Englewood, CO this ranges from $48,500.00-$66,700.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
